One Body, Alive!

Holy Communion for Contemporary Christians - by Jay Beech

Description

This liturgy was originally commissioned for the National Youth Gathering held in Atlanta, GA and was premiered at that event in 1994. Stylistically the music of this service is influenced by blues, jazz, and African American gospel music. It follows the standard order of service but the liturgical music includes some alternate texts adapted from the book of Ephesians. The themes of baptism and resurrection are strongly expressed.
